Close your eyes and take a long, slow, deep breath - good - now slowly exhale the air from your mouth as you count from three - two - one - and let go.
And again - another deep breath - and this time - feel the whole of your body beginning to relax - and let go - three - two - one.
Now concentrate on your right hand - and as you concentrate on your right hand - notice how it's beginning to feel lighter than your left hand - beginning to feel so light that it's almost as though it's lifting up - all by itself.
And concentrate on the lightness in your right hand - what does the word light mean to you? Perhaps you can imagine a feather lifting up with a warm breeze - dancing through the air - so light - so comfortable - just floating away.
Or - maybe a leaf on the ground that's gently lifting in the Autumn (Fall) winds - whatever the word light means to you - that meaning is transferred to your right hand and it actually begins to feel light - notice that twitch as the muscles relax and your hand just wants to float up - and up - higher and higher - becoming lighter and lighter - that's right - so light - just floating right up - and up - good - keep on concentrating on the word light - light as a feather - light as a leaf in an Autumn breeze - light as a helium balloon that pulls itself up into the air - so light - that's right - that's your right hand lifting - higher and higher - up and up - floating lazily up towards your face - and as soon as it touches your face you will be ten times more deeply and comfortably relaxed.
Continue as above until the hand touches the face and then continue with an appropriate deepener.
